Clinical Services
For survivors and individuals seeking support
What Makes Science For Survivors Different?
Finding help after trauma can feel overwhelming. Many therapy practices offer general support, but Science for Survivors was created to provide something more: care that is compassionate, specialized, and grounded in what science tells us is best for trauma recovery.
Expertise you can trust
I am a licensed clinical psychologist and professor with over a decade of experience dedicated to trauma recovery. Along the way, I’ve had the opportunity to learn from global experts in PTSD and trauma treatment, to help evaluate which approaches are most effective in research, and to train other therapists in how to use those methods well. These experiences shape the care I provide today — focused, evidence-based, and tailored to each person I work with.
Science-based care, not just talk therapy
I use structured, time-limited approaches (Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, CBT) that are proven to reduce trauma symptoms and help people move forward.
Assessment as the foundation
Every service at Science for Survivors begins with a clinical assessment — a structured conversation and evidence-based measures that help us understand your history, symptoms, and goals. This ensures that whether you’re seeking therapy, a diagnostic evaluation, or expert input, we start with clarity and a plan.
For many people, this first session looks like a standard therapy intake. Others may benefit from a more comprehensive diagnostic assessment, especially if you’re seeking official documentation or have had mixed results from past evaluations. Either way, you’ll leave with a clear understanding of next steps.
Support for the full picture
While PTSD is central to my practice (including what’s sometimes called complex trauma/complex PTSD from ongoing or repeated experiences), I also provide specialized care for other trauma-related concerns including sleep problems and nightmares, OCD connected to trauma, substance use that co-occurs with PTSD, and the anxiety or depression that often follow trauma.
Accessible expertise
Through secure telehealth, I provide services across more than 40 states, bringing specialized trauma care to you. Click HERE to see if your state is a PSYPACT-participating state.
